I recently had the pleasure of visiting The George Hotel in Crewkerne, and I can’t speak highly enough of the experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a genuinely warm and welcoming atmosphere that made me feel right at home. It’s clear that creating a friendly environment is a top priority here. A special mention must go to the new manager, who is doing an outstanding job. There’s a real sense of positive change and energy under his leadership. The entire team deserves applause—they’re attentive, professional, and always ready with a smile. You can tell they genuinely care about their guests. The food service was another highlight. Meals were served quickly and efficiently without sacrificing quality. Everything was fresh, well-prepared, and delicious. Better still, the prices were very reasonable, offering great value for money without compromising on taste or portion size. Whether you’re local or just passing through, I highly recommend stopping by The George Hotel. It’s a perfect spot for a relaxing meal or drink in a lovely, welcoming setting. I’ll definitely be returning!

Great old Coaching Inn with rooms furnished appropriately but comfortably. Excellent en suite - v. clean. Staff friendly & welcoming and breakfast delicious. We did not need evening meals but the menu looked good. New management (just one week in) when we visited, and I'm sure they are going to make a great team. Right in the centre of beautiful Crewkerne. Very good value!

This is a coaching inn definitely from the 17th century or even early. The way it has developed can be seen in the structure. What appears to have once been stables are now small shops and a cafe. The steps to the first floor are hand built with a variation in hight on most risers. The rooms are cosy with onsuite bathrooms. The service is friendly. Breakfast is inclusive with a variety of menu items. Would I stay there again, I love the slight quirkiness of, and l, yes, I would happily stay again

New Management doing a fantastic job so far, room was clean and comfortable, new menu is simple but absolutely delicious (maybe the best chips I've ever had and breakfast was also wonderful) and all the staff were beyond friendly and accomodating. Thank you to Jake + the team for a wonderful stay! What an INSPIRING weekend!

While a view of a carpark and Poundland might not sound enticing, the charm of the hotel and friendliness of the staff more than compensated! We were visiting the area to catch up with friends and family so the location was perfect. We had a lovely large room with a four poster bed. However the standout of our visit was Craig. He was so welcoming and nothing was a problem. He also cooked our bacon and eggs to perfection!

Such an amazing hotel. Staff are lovely and the place is clean. Great location and not far to walk from a free residential street. Food was ok but nothing special. I loved the Halloween decorations they put up. Would 100% stay here again.
